What case forwarding actually controls

Amazon decides how a shipment splits and which fulfillment centers receive it. We do not control routing. We control the part that is ours: the count is right, the labeling is right, and the shipment plan matches what is physically on the pallet.

An FBA case forwarding service receives sealed manufacturer or distributor case packs at a prep facility, confirms what arrived against what was expected, and routes those cases into Amazon FBA as inbound shipments. For wholesale and brand-owned inventory the manufacturer often packs to a fixed case quantity that already meets Amazon case-pack rules, so the work is not opening and repacking every unit. The work is receiving accurately, verifying case counts and condition, applying the labeling Amazon requires, and building the inbound plan correctly so the shipment is accepted at the destination fulfillment center.

The forwarding step is where most case-pack inventory goes wrong. A miscounted pallet, a case built against the wrong case-pack configuration, or a missing box label can trigger receiving discrepancies, reconciliation cases, and held inventory. Marketplace Prep runs case forwarding on our own software, which pulls the FNSKU directly from Seller Central, generates the box labels, and produces the inbound plan against Amazon’s current case-pack and shipment requirements. That keeps the digital shipment record and the physical pallet in agreement, which is what prevents the discrepancy work downstream.

How we handle it

Case forwarding runs as one sequence, from the pallet hitting our floor to the shipment leaving it. Six steps keep the record and the freight in agreement.

01

Receiving against your PO

Pallet and LTL deliveries arrive by appointment during our 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM CST receiving window. We have a forklift on site and accept 53′ semi and 40′ container deliveries. Each case pack is received against the purchase order or inbound sheet you provide.

02

Count and condition verification

We confirm case counts and per-case quantities and inspect for visible damage or seal issues. You are told what actually arrived, including shortages, overages, and damage, before the inventory moves into a shipment. We do not paper over a short pallet to keep a shipment moving.

03

FNSKU labeling and case-pack compliance

Labeling runs on our software, which pulls the FNSKU directly from Seller Central. We apply the FNSKU labeling Amazon requires for your items and verify the case-pack configuration so the shipment is built against the correct quantities, not an assumption.

04

Shipment plan execution in our software

The FBA shipment plan is built and processed in our software, working from your Seller Central plan. Box labels and the inbound plan are generated to match the physical pallet. When Amazon splits the shipment across fulfillment centers, the plan reflects that split rather than fighting it.

05

Freight booking when the cases need it

If the case packs move on freight rather than parcel, we coordinate it through Freight Booking using the Amazon Freight portal, including BOL generation and pickup scheduling from our facility. Parcel volumes ship without an appointment.

06

Visibility without chasing us

Communication runs through a dedicated WhatsApp group for your account, so you get answers on a receiving or shipment question in the channel you already use. We tell you what is actually happening, including the parts you would rather not hear.

Who this is built for

Case forwarding fits sellers who buy by the case, sell through FBA, and want the receiving, verification, labeling, and shipment build handled accurately rather than repackaged unit by unit.

A fit

  • Wholesale sellers whose distributor case packs already meet Amazon case-pack rules as packed.
  • Brand owners moving manufacturer case packs into FBA without per-unit repackaging.
  • Established sellers shipping 3,000 units a month or more, with low-to-moderate SKU counts and real per-SKU volume.
  • Sellers active at least 12 months who already work in FBA shipment plans, case-pack rules, and FNSKU labeling.

Not a fit

  • Volume under 500 units a month.
  • Inventory sourced by reselling retail store or marketplace purchases.
  • Hazmat, refrigerated goods, or oversized freight.
  • Anyone who wants a lead time promised before the engagement is scoped. Lead times are written into the agreement.

Questions we get

What is an FBA case forwarding service?

An FBA case forwarding service receives sealed manufacturer or distributor case packs at a prep facility, verifies counts and condition, applies the labeling Amazon requires, and forwards the cases into Amazon FBA as compliant inbound shipments. It is built for inventory that arrives by the case and moves into FBA without per-unit repackaging. Marketplace Prep runs this on our own software from our Fort Worth, TX facility.

Does case forwarding mean you open and repack every unit?

No. When the manufacturer packs to a fixed case quantity that meets Amazon case-pack rules, the units stay in their cases. The work is accurate receiving, count and condition verification, FNSKU and box labeling, and building the inbound shipment plan so it matches the physical pallet. If repackaging or additional prep is needed, that is scoped separately.

Can you control which fulfillment center my cases ship to?

No. Amazon controls how an inbound shipment splits across its network and which fulfillment centers receive it. What we control is the part that is ours: accurate counts, correct FNSKU and box labeling, and a shipment plan in Seller Central that matches what is physically on the pallet, so the cases are accepted when they arrive.

What tool do you use to build the FBA shipment?

Our software builds and processes every FBA shipment plan, working directly from your Seller Central account. It pulls the FNSKU, generates the box labels, and produces the inbound plan against Amazon’s current case-pack and shipment requirements, which keeps the digital shipment record and the physical pallet in agreement.

How do you handle the freight side of case forwarding?

If your case packs move on freight, we coordinate it through Freight Booking using the Amazon Freight portal, including BOL generation and pickup scheduling from our Fort Worth facility. Pallet and LTL deliveries into us require an appointment within our 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM CST receiving window. Parcel deliveries do not need an appointment.

What volume do I need to qualify for case forwarding?

We work with established sellers shipping 3,000 or more units a month as the ideal fit, with a hard floor of 500 units a month. We expect a seller active for at least 12 months who understands FBA shipment plans and case-pack rules. We do not take inventory sourced by reselling retail store or marketplace purchases.

How is FBA case forwarding priced?

Case forwarding is quoted for your case-pack configuration, SKU mix, and volume; standard prep, when you need it, follows the published per-unit tiers on our prep pricing page. We price for the accuracy and custom handling your inventory requires rather than racing to the bottom. Schedule a call and we will scope it against your case-pack configuration, SKU mix, and volume.

Need FBA case forwarding? Let’s scope it.

Every engagement is custom-scoped. Tell us your case-pack configuration, SKU mix, and monthly volume, and we will build a plan that fits how your inventory actually moves.
