Why one Texas node covers a national footprint

Marketplace Prep is headquartered in Fort Worth. We are not running a satellite node for a head office somewhere else, so the team picking your orders is the team you talk to.

DTC fulfillment in Fort Worth puts your inventory in the middle of the country, which is the practical reason national ecommerce brands warehouse here rather than on a coast. From our 8,750 sq ft facility at 1925 Golden Heights Rd in north Fort Worth, a parcel handed to UPS, FedEx, or USPS reaches most of the lower 48 in a tighter ground-zone band than it would from either coast. One Texas node covers a national footprint without you paying for split East and West warehouses.

Fort Worth sits inside the DFW metroplex, the largest inland logistics hub in Texas, with overlapping carrier networks, dense LTL lanes, and the Alliance corridor running through the north side of the city. For a brand shipping a few hundred to a few thousand direct-to-consumer orders a month, that geography is a real cost-and-coverage lever rather than marketing copy.

James McConnell Jr. founded Marketplace Prep out of direct Amazon selling experience across 6,000-plus SKUs and 200,000-plus units. That operator background is why the DTC side is built around order anomalies, channel quirks, and inventory reconciliation: the parts of ecommerce fulfillment that only show up once the volume is real.

What runs on the floor

Order accuracy is the whole job. Every service below runs against one inventory record in ShipHero, so a pick, a kit draw-down, and a tracking number all reconcile to the same count.

Pick, pack, and ship

Order-by-order picking, packing, and shipping for your ecommerce channels, run inside ShipHero. Orders flow from your store to the floor, get picked against live inventory, and ship out under your label.

Shopify and WooCommerce integration

Your Shopify or WooCommerce store connects into ShipHero so orders, tracking, and inventory counts stay in sync. You see what we see, without chasing a status update.

Amazon merchant-fulfilled orders

If you ship Amazon orders yourself rather than sending them into FBA, we pick and pack them from Fort Worth on the same ShipHero backbone as the rest of your DTC volume.

Kitting and subscription boxes

Subscription box assembly and kitting, configured as virtual kits in ShipHero so components draw down correctly as kits ship. Built for brands with recurring cartons, not one-off bundles.

One inventory record

ShipHero is the WMS of record for every DTC client. Inventory, order management, and reporting live in one system, so your counts are auditable and your reorder decisions are grounded in real numbers. The MP Hub command center is where that operation surfaces to you.

When an order needs a human

Exceptions are where a fulfillment relationship is actually tested. Every client gets a dedicated WhatsApp group at onboarding, so a question about an order, an exception, or an inbound gets answered in real time rather than queued as a ticket. We tell you what is happening on the floor, including the bad news.

FBA Prep under the same roof

If you split volume between DTC and Amazon FBA, we run FBA Prep from the same building. Our software pulls the FNSKU off your shipment plan in Seller Central, and labeling, poly-bagging, and case-pack compliance sit alongside your DTC operation.

Who this is built for

DTC fulfillment here is built for brands that have outgrown packing orders themselves and now need the operation to hold together at volume.

A fit

  • Ecommerce brands shipping a few hundred to a few thousand orders a month across Shopify, WooCommerce, or Amazon merchant-fulfilled orders.
  • Subscription brands with recurring cartons that need kit components drawn down correctly every time a kit ships.
  • Brands splitting volume between DTC and Amazon FBA who would rather run both out of one building than coordinate two vendors.
  • Sellers who want inventory, order history, and tracking auditable in one system instead of reconstructed from email.

How onboarding works

Four steps from the first call to orders shipping. Nothing here is a cookie-cutter template: the scope comes out of your actual order profile.

01

Discovery call

We learn your order volume, SKU mix, sales channels, and kitting requirements, and we say plainly whether the operation is one we should take.

02

Scoped agreement

Pick, pack, and storage follow the published rates on our fulfillment pricing page; kitting and custom projects are scoped up front, so there are no surprise charges later. Wallet funded, WhatsApp group created.

03

Integrate and send inventory

Connect your store into ShipHero and send inventory to the Fort Worth facility. Client-facing receiving runs 9 AM to 3 PM CST, with an appointment required for pallet and LTL deliveries.

04

We fulfill, you scale

Orders pick, pack, and ship through ShipHero as they land, and the counts stay reconciled while they do. You focus on the brand and the demand.

Questions we get

Where is Marketplace Prep located in Fort Worth?

Our facility is at 1925 Golden Heights Rd, Suite 200, Fort Worth, TX 76177, in the north part of the city. It is 8,750 square feet, with 53-foot semi and 40-foot container access and a forklift on site. Client-facing receiving runs 9 AM to 3 PM CST, Monday through Friday.

Why fulfill DTC orders from Fort Worth instead of a coastal warehouse?

Fort Worth sits in central Texas, the largest inland logistics hub in the state, so a single node reaches most of the lower 48 in a tighter ground-zone band than a coastal warehouse would. For most national ecommerce brands, one well-placed Texas warehouse covers the country without the cost of running separate East and West Coast facilities. Overlapping UPS, FedEx, and USPS networks across DFW give you carrier flexibility on top of the geography.

What order volume do you take for DTC fulfillment?

We start around 30 orders a month, and the real gate is your storage footprint rather than your order count. Most brands we run are shipping a few hundred to a few thousand orders a month. A slow, bulky catalog is a harder fit than a fast-moving one at any volume.

Do I have to use ShipHero?

Yes. ShipHero is the warehouse management system we run all DTC fulfillment on, and integration into it is non-negotiable for DTC at scale. It keeps your orders, inventory, and tracking in sync across channels, and it is how you get visibility into the operation without chasing us for updates.

Which sales channels can you fulfill?

We fulfill DTC orders from Shopify and WooCommerce through ShipHero, and we ship Amazon merchant-fulfilled orders from Fort Worth. We do not run Seller Fulfilled Prime. Kitting and subscription box assembly are configured as virtual kits in ShipHero. If you also send to Amazon FBA, we run FBA Prep from the same building, on your Seller Central shipment plan.

How does pricing work for DTC fulfillment?

Pick, pack, storage, and receiving follow the published rates on our fulfillment pricing page. Kitting and custom projects are quoted after we look at your SKU mix and order profile, so there are no surprise charges. Book a call to start the scoping conversation.

How will I communicate with your team?

Communication is WhatsApp-first. Every client gets a dedicated WhatsApp group at onboarding, so questions about orders, exceptions, and inbound get answered in real time. Email stays as the channel for formal documents like agreements and invoices.

Can I send inventory in by freight or parcel?

Both. The facility takes 53-foot semis and 40-foot containers and has a forklift on site, with an appointment required for all pallet and LTL deliveries. Parcel shipments from UPS, FedEx, or USPS need no appointment. If you need inbound freight arranged, we book Amazon Freight and coordinate LTL pickups as a separate service.

Shipping a few hundred orders a month? Let’s scope it.

We do not make blanket promises. We scope every engagement. Tell us your order volume, SKU mix, sales channels, and kitting requirements, and we will build a plan that fits.

  • 50,000+ units processed in a typical month
  • 750,000+ glass items handled through a long-running Amazon FBA engagement
  • Fulfillment for hundreds of Amazon, Walmart and DTC sellers
  • Read our customer reviews
