Etsy Fulfillment for Growing Shops
Etsy fulfillment becomes a real question the month the kitchen table stops working: boxes stacked in the hallway and a ship-by date on every order. We pick, pack and ship Etsy orders from our Fort Worth warehouse on ShipHero, with your own inserts and packaging in the box, so you can get back to designing and making.

When the packing table is the bottleneck
Etsy puts a ship-by date on every order, and the hours you spend taping boxes are hours you are not spending on the next design.
Most Etsy shops start the same way: the maker packs the order, prints the label and drops it at the post office. It works until a good month arrives. Then the shelf of supplies spreads into the dining room, a holiday week eats the time you had set aside for new work, and every order is a small deadline that only you can meet.
Etsy measures that deadline in processing time. For a finished item, Etsy describes processing time as the time you need to package the item and bring it to the shipping service, and it starts counting the day after the buyer pays. Handing the packing to a warehouse does not remove the deadline. It moves the work to people who do it all day, in a building set up for it.
At Marketplace Prep, Etsy orders run on the same ShipHero floor as the rest of our DTC fulfillment. We agree the ship window with you when the engagement is scoped, and we do not publish a blanket turnaround guarantee, because the honest window depends on your order profile and how much of your catalog is ready to ship.
What Etsy asks of an order, and who does what
These come from Etsy's own Help Center and apply to your shop, not to us. The right-hand column is the part of each one a warehouse actually touches.
Ship-by date
What Etsy saysProcessing time begins the day after purchase. You mark the order shipped by 11:59 pm on the ship-by date, in your shop's time zone.
What happens hereThe order is picked and packed inside the window we agree with you, so the date you set on the listing is one the warehouse is working to.
Tracking
What Etsy saysAdding tracking is required to complete an order for US sellers, and valid tracking is needed for Star Seller credit and Purchase Protection.
What happens hereThe label is bought in ShipHero, so every package leaves with a carrier tracking number, and that number goes back to the Etsy order.
Who makes the item
What Etsy saysA production partner physically produces items from your designs and is disclosed on your listings. Etsy sets and updates those rules.
What happens hereWe produce nothing. You or your own makers finish the product and send it in, and we store, pick, pack and ship it.
Etsy updates its policies, and how they apply depends on how your shop is set up. Read its current Seller Policy and Help Center before you plan around a summary on any third-party page, this one included.

How Etsy orders run here
Etsy orders flow into ShipHero, the same system that holds your stock count, so what is on the shelf and what is promised stay in one place.
Orders into ShipHero
Each Etsy order lands in ShipHero, gets picked against live inventory in our Fort Worth warehouse, and ships on a carrier label bought in ShipHero. The tracking number goes back to the Etsy order. The connection is tested during onboarding, before a live order runs through it.
A box that still feels made
A thank-you card, a sticker on the tissue, the wrapping you pick: if you supply it, it can go in the box on request, placed the same way every time. We scope that with you before it runs. The packing steps become instructions for your SKUs, which is how a handmade unboxing survives a move out of your house.
One pool beside Shopify
If you also sell the same product on your own Shopify store, both listings draw on one master product in ShipHero. A sale on one channel lowers the count the other sees, so a sold-out piece does not stay for sale. Multichannel fulfillment from one inventory explains the setup.
Sets and gift bundles
A gift set or a three-piece bundle can be configured as a virtual kit, built from the single items you already list. Kits ship complete as one order line. See kitting and bundling fulfillment for how that is scoped.
Returns back to the shelf
A returned item comes back to us, gets a condition check, and goes back on the shelf if it is sellable. Anything damaged is flagged for your decision rather than restocked. Details are on our ecommerce returns processing page.
A WhatsApp group for exceptions
Every client gets a dedicated WhatsApp group at onboarding. A bad address, a short pick or a buyer asking where a package is gets answered in the thread, not queued as a ticket.
Who this is built for
Etsy shops fit here when the product is finished, repeatable and already shipping.
A fit
- Shops where the owner packs every order and it now costs more design and making time than it is worth.
- Makers with ready-to-ship stock produced in repeatable batches, sent to the warehouse in cases or boxes.
- Sellers on Etsy and their own Shopify store who want one stock count behind both.
- Shops with a gift-season spike that pack in the dining room for six weeks a year.
- Sellers who want a person to message when an order goes sideways, not a ticket queue.
How onboarding works
Four steps from the first call to the first Etsy order leaving Fort Worth.
01
Discovery call
We go through your products, how they are packed today, your processing times and any other channels you sell on, and we say plainly whether the shop is one we should take.
02
Scoped agreement
The ship window, inserts, packaging and returns handling are written into the agreement. Your prepaid wallet is funded before work begins, and your WhatsApp group is set up.
03
Write the pack instructions
You show us how a finished order should look. Your Etsy store connects into ShipHero, SKUs are mapped, and the connection is tested before any live order runs through it.
04
Send stock and go live
Finished inventory comes in to 1925 Golden Heights Rd, Suite 200 in Fort Worth. Once it is counted against your master products, Etsy orders start shipping.
Questions we get
Can a 3PL ship my Etsy orders?
Yes, when the finished product is yours. Etsy's Help Center describes a production partner as a company or individual outside your shop that physically produces items from your original designs, and it asks sellers to disclose production partners on their listings. Marketplace Prep makes nothing. You or your own makers produce the item, send finished stock to our Fort Worth warehouse, and we store it, pick it, pack it and ship it on ShipHero. Etsy sets the rules for your shop and can change them, so read its current Seller Policy and Help Center for how they apply to you.
What does Etsy expect on processing time and tracking?
Etsy counts processing time from the day after the buyer pays, shows you a ship-by date on each order, and expects the order marked shipped by 11:59 pm on that date in your shop's time zone. It also requires tracking to complete an order for US sellers, and valid tracking is what lets an order count toward Star Seller and qualify for Purchase Protection. Those are Etsy's rules for your shop, not promises we make. What we control is the physical side: picking and packing inside the window we agree with you, and a carrier label bought in ShipHero so every package has tracking.
Can my own inserts and packaging still go in the box?
Yes. Printed cards, stickers, tissue and branded boxes that you supply can go into the package on request, and we place them the same way on every order. That work is scoped with you first, and we use what you send. We do not design or print packaging. If your unboxing has a particular order of steps, write it down once during onboarding and it becomes the pack instruction for your SKUs.
Can I run Etsy and Shopify from one inventory?
Yes. A product listed on both gets one master product in ShipHero that holds the physical units, and each listing's SKU points at it as a kit of one. An Etsy order and a Shopify order for the same item then draw down the same stock. Listings with variations such as size or color are several physical products, so each variation is counted on its own. The full method is on our page about multichannel fulfillment from one inventory.
Which listings should I hand over first, ready-to-ship or made-to-order?
Start with ready-to-ship listings. Etsy lets each listing be marked made to order or ready to ship, and for a custom item the processing time includes the time it takes to make it. A warehouse can only ship what is on its shelf, so finished goods you can make in repeatable batches are the natural first move. Items you still craft after the order arrives can stay at your bench until they are finished and sent here, or you can keep them on your own shipping and move the rest.
What order volume do you take for Etsy orders?
Volume is counted in orders across every channel we ship for you, and there is no ceiling. The floor is about 30 orders a month, because we run a fulfillment operation, not a storage unit. A shop with a few hundred orders in a gift-heavy month and a quiet summer is a normal profile, and the real limit is the storage space your stock needs against our free capacity, which we look at on the first call.
How long do packages take to reach Etsy buyers from Fort Worth?
Carrier published standards from our 76177 ZIP put most of the U.S. in 3 business days or less by ground, and a ZIP-level answer is in our quote tool. Those are the carriers' standards, not a guarantee, and the days a package spends in transit come after the processing days you promise on the listing. Our guide to shipping DTC orders nationwide from Texas covers the carrier options.
