A cleared Houston container still needs one more stop before Amazon

Customs releases your freight. It does not label it, case-pack it, or build the shipment plan. Somewhere between the port and the FC, someone has to open the container.

Houston is the largest import port city in Texas and one of the busiest container ports in the country, so a large share of the Amazon sellers here are sourcing overseas. Goods clearing the Port of Houston land in the metro as containers or drayed pallets, and nothing in that state is ready for FBA. Our facility at 1925 Golden Heights Rd, Suite 200 sits in north Fort Worth off I-35W, so the break-down and the prep happen at one stop on a lane your carriers already run.

We do not handle customs clearance. Once your goods are cleared and moving domestically, whether that is an LTL carrier out of a Houston drayage yard or a parcel shipment from an importer’s local warehouse, we receive them: bulk receiving, inspection and sorting, case-pack building, FNSKU labeling, and the shipment plan built and executed by our software straight out of Seller Central. We also do not promise the routing saves you money on freight, because Amazon controls FC assignment. What we control is that the freight is broken down once, against your documented specs, by people who read a case-pack rule the way an operator does. Marketplace Prep was built by a seller who ran 6,000+ SKUs and more than 200,000 units on Amazon, and every account gets a dedicated WhatsApp group rather than a ticket queue.

Getting your inventory from Houston onto our floor

Four ways Houston inventory reaches us, and what each one asks of you.

Parcel

UPS, FedEx, and USPS deliveries need no appointment. Smaller inbounds from a Houston unit or an importer’s local warehouse enter receiving as they land.

Pallet and LTL

Scheduled appointment required. Book the window with us before the carrier dispatches, so a truck is not sitting at the door without a slot. This is the lane most Houston freight arrives on.

Cleared import freight

We do not handle customs clearance. Once goods are released and moving domestically, an LTL carrier out of a Houston drayage yard can deliver to us. Our loading dock is accessible to 53-foot semis and 40-foot containers with a forklift on site, so palletized and floor-loaded freight both work.

Outbound to Amazon

We book Amazon Freight through the Amazon Freight portal, coordinate LTL, generate the BOL, and schedule carrier pickup from our Fort Worth facility. You are not chasing carriers from Houston.

Who this is built for

Houston sellers usually arrive with import volume and freight that has to be broken down before it can ship to Amazon. That is the seller this floor is set up for.

A fit

  • Houston and Gulf Coast brands shipping 3,000+ units a month who are sourcing overseas and prepping in house today.
  • Wholesale sellers moving case-pack inventory, which has grown since Amazon ended its own prep service.
  • Private label brands that want custom packaging, inserts, kitting, and quality assurance handled on the same floor as the FBA prep.
  • Sellers running Shopify, WooCommerce, or Amazon merchant-fulfilled orders alongside FBA who can integrate with ShipHero.

Questions Houston sellers ask

Where is Marketplace Prep located relative to Houston?

Our facility is at 1925 Golden Heights Rd, Suite 200, Fort Worth, TX 76177, north of Houston by way of I-45 and then US-287 northwest. For Houston sellers routing import volume from the Port of Houston toward Amazon FCs in the DFW cluster, our facility sits at the northern end of that freight corridor.

How do Houston sellers get inventory to your facility?

Most Houston clients route inventory via LTL freight or use parcel carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS) for smaller inbounds. Pallet and LTL deliveries require an appointment booked in advance. Our receiving window is 9 AM to 3 PM CST, Monday through Friday. The facility handles 53-foot semis and 40-foot containers.

Do you handle import inventory coming through the Port of Houston?

Yes. We receive inventory from wherever your supplier or freight forwarder delivers it, whether that is an LTL carrier from a Houston drayage yard or a parcel shipment from an importer’s local warehouse. We do not handle customs clearance, but once goods are cleared and moving domestically, we can receive and prep them.

What volume do I need to work with Marketplace Prep?

The FBA prep floor is 500 units per month. Sellers in the 500 to 3,000 range are evaluated case by case, and 3,000+ units per month is our core fit. We serve established sellers and growing brands, not first-time sellers or sourcing models outside private label, wholesale, and brand-exclusive relationships.

How does FBA shipment plan execution work?

Our software builds and executes your FBA shipment plans straight from Seller Central. That covers FNSKU labeling, poly-bagging, bundling, inspection, and Amazon case-pack compliance, all matched to live plan data before anything ships from our floor.

What are your turnaround times for Houston inbounds?

We do not publish blanket turnaround times. Lead times depend on your volume, SKU complexity, and the prep involved, and we scope them per engagement in your service agreement.

How does pricing work?

Standard prep is billed at the published per-unit volume tiers on our prep pricing page, with every standard step included. Work outside standard prep is quoted after we understand your SKU mix. Schedule a call and we will walk through your operation.

Prepping out of Houston? Let’s scope it.

We do not make blanket promises and we do not quote before we understand the work. Tell us your SKU mix, your volume, and how your inventory arrives, and we will scope it against what you actually ship.
