Why the closest dock is the wrong thing for a Dallas seller to optimize
Dallas gives you more prep centers to choose from than anywhere else in Texas, and that is exactly why the map is the wrong filter. What decides the outcome is whether the floor reads your Seller Central shipment plan the way your account does.
Dallas sits on the east side of the metroplex, where I-30, I-35E, and I-20 converge and push freight out in every direction. Our facility at 1925 Golden Heights Rd, Suite 200 is in far north Fort Worth near Alliance, so inventory leaving a Dallas home base, a leased unit, or a local distributor runs west on I-30 and then north up I-35W. Whether you are receiving overseas production, wholesale cases, or returns coming back through downtown Dallas, that inventory reaches us by parcel or by appointed LTL on one run across the metroplex.
Proximity is the easy part, and in Dallas it is also the easiest thing for a prep center to sell you. Amazon decides which fulfillment centers your inbound splits across, so no address on either side of the metroplex changes that. At 3,000 units a month and up, what costs you is the FNSKU labeling, the case-pack compliance, and the shipment plans taking the hours that should go to buying and selling. Marketplace Prep was built by a seller who ran 6,000+ SKUs and more than 200,000 units on Amazon, so FBA rules are operational knowledge here rather than a help article. Our software builds and executes your shipment plan straight out of Seller Central, and your account gets a dedicated WhatsApp group, so you can ask what is happening with a pallet without opening a ticket.
Getting your inventory from Dallas onto our floor
Four ways inventory gets from Dallas onto our floor, and what each one asks of you.
Parcel
UPS, FedEx, and USPS deliveries need no appointment. Ship from a Dallas home base or a leased unit and the boxes enter receiving as they land.
Pallet and LTL
Scheduled appointment required. Book the window with us before the carrier dispatches, so a truck is not sitting at the door without a slot. This is the lane for wholesale cases and private label production arriving direct from a supplier.
Driving it up yourself
Our client-facing receiving window is 9 AM to 3 PM CST, Monday through Friday. Most Dallas sellers never make the drive, but the door is open inside that window.
Outbound to Amazon
We book Amazon Freight through the Amazon Freight portal, coordinate LTL, generate the BOL, and schedule carrier pickup from our Fort Worth facility, so you are not chasing carriers from Dallas.
Who this is built for
Dallas holds one of the largest concentrations of private label brands, wholesale distributors, and DTC operators in the country. This floor is set up for the ones already moving real volume.
A fit
- Dallas and Dallas County brands shipping 3,000+ units a month who have outgrown prepping out of a garage or a small leased unit.
- Wholesale sellers moving case-pack inventory, which has grown here since Amazon ended its own prep service.
- Private label brands that want custom packaging, inserts, kitting, and quality assurance handled on the same floor as the FBA prep.
- Sellers running Shopify, WooCommerce, or Amazon merchant-fulfilled orders alongside FBA who can integrate with ShipHero.
Questions Dallas sellers ask
Where is Marketplace Prep located relative to Dallas, TX?
Our facility is at 1925 Golden Heights Rd, Suite 200, Fort Worth, TX 76177, in far north Fort Worth near the Alliance area. Most Dallas sellers route inventory west on I-30 and then north up I-35W. You do not need to drop off in person; the majority of our Dallas clients send inventory by parcel carrier or by appointed LTL pickup.
Can I drop off inventory from Dallas, or do I have to ship it?
Both work. You can ship inventory to us by parcel through UPS, FedEx, or USPS with no appointment required, or arrange an appointed pallet or LTL delivery. If you prefer to drive it over from Dallas yourself, our client-facing receiving window is 9 AM to 3 PM CST, Monday through Friday. Pallet and LTL deliveries require a scheduled appointment.
How do you price prep work?
Per unit, at the published volume tiers on our prep pricing page. Every standard step, from receiving and inspection to FNSKU labels and poly bags, is included, and the rate drops as your monthly volume grows. Work outside standard prep, such as kitting or problem inbounds, is quoted after we see your SKU mix on a call.
Do you FNSKU-label every unit?
For resellers, yes, and that is no longer optional. Stickerless commingled inventory ended on March 31, 2026, so a reseller now needs an Amazon barcode on every unit even when the product already carries a manufacturer barcode. Brand owners holding the Brand Representative role can still run manufacturer barcodes. Our software pulls the FNSKU off your shipment plan.
What are your poly-bagging rules?
Bags run 1.5 mil or thicker and must not protrude more than 3 inches past the product’s own dimensions. The barcode is either-or: readable through a transparent bag, or on a label applied to the outside. A suffocation warning is required once the bag opening measures 5 inches or more laid flat, and the print size scales with the bag’s length plus width.
Can you book the freight as well as prep it?
Yes. We book Amazon Freight, coordinate LTL, generate the BOL, and schedule carrier pickup from our address. Keeping the prep and the booking on one floor removes the gap where a finished pallet sits waiting for someone else to arrange a truck.
What is actually in scope here?
Receiving, inspection, FNSKU labeling, poly-bagging, bubble wrapping, bundling and kitting, case-pack building and compliance, shipment plan execution, and freight booking, plus DTC pick and pack for sellers on ShipHero.
Who do I talk to when something looks wrong on a shipment?
The same group you already have open. Each account gets its own WhatsApp thread at onboarding, and a discrepancy on a receipt gets raised there with the counts attached rather than disappearing into a ticket queue. Formal paperwork moves by email so there is a clean record.
