Why San Antonio prep is a stop on I-35, not a detour off it

You are already paying for a northbound truck. The only question is whether the prep step happens on that lane or somewhere off it.

San Antonio sits at the southern end of I-35, one of the highest-volume freight routes in Texas, and that lane runs north through the state and into the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Our facility at 1925 Golden Heights Rd, Suite 200 is in north Fort Worth, and Amazon’s metroplex fulfillment infrastructure sits at that same northern end. San Antonio inventory that comes to us for prep and then moves on to Amazon stays inside the I-35 corridor the whole way, without an east-west detour.

We are not selling proximity as a product. Amazon still controls which FC receives your shipment, and we will not pretend otherwise. What the lane buys you is that the prep step costs you no new freight relationship: LTL carriers run this corridor constantly, and San Antonio’s manufacturing and distribution base means a lot of that volume can be consigned to us direct from the supplier. What we control after the truck arrives is the receiving, the prep accuracy, and the shipment plan, which our software builds and executes straight out of Seller Central. Every account gets a dedicated WhatsApp group, so when something changes with a pallet you hear it from us rather than noticing it.

Getting your inventory from San Antonio onto our floor

Four ways San Antonio inventory reaches us, and what each one asks of you.

Parcel

UPS, FedEx, and USPS deliveries need no appointment. Ship from a San Antonio unit and the boxes enter receiving as they land.

Pallet and LTL on I-35

Scheduled appointment required. Book the window with us before the carrier dispatches, so a truck is not sitting at the door without a slot. Our loading dock is accessible to 53-foot semis and 40-foot containers with a forklift on site.

Supplier and distributor direct

San Antonio has an active manufacturing and distribution base. Wholesale cases and private label production can be consigned onto our floor straight from the supplier rather than routed through your own unit first. The appointment rule still applies to the delivering carrier.

Outbound to Amazon

We book Amazon Freight through the Amazon Freight portal, coordinate LTL, generate the BOL, and schedule carrier pickup from our Fort Worth facility. You are not chasing carriers from San Antonio.

Who this is built for

San Antonio sellers usually reach us from wholesale and distributor volume rather than from a spare room. That is the seller this floor is set up for.

A fit

  • San Antonio and south Texas brands shipping 3,000+ units a month who have outgrown prepping in house.
  • Wholesale sellers moving case-pack inventory, which has grown since Amazon ended its own prep service.
  • Private label brands that want custom packaging, inserts, kitting, and quality assurance handled on the same floor as the FBA prep.
  • Sellers running Shopify, WooCommerce, or Amazon merchant-fulfilled orders alongside FBA who can integrate with ShipHero.

Questions San Antonio sellers ask

Where is Marketplace Prep located relative to San Antonio?

Our facility is at 1925 Golden Heights Rd, Suite 200, Fort Worth, TX 76177, north of San Antonio via I-35. That puts us at the northern end of the same freight corridor San Antonio sellers already use to move product through the Texas market.

How do San Antonio sellers ship inventory to your facility?

Most San Antonio clients use LTL freight on the I-35 corridor or parcel carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS) for smaller inbounds. Pallet and LTL deliveries require an appointment. Our receiving window is 9 AM to 3 PM CST, Monday through Friday. The facility is accessible to 53-foot semis and 40-foot containers.

What volume do I need to qualify?

The FBA prep floor is 500 units per month. Sellers in the 500 to 3,000 range are evaluated case by case, and 3,000+ units per month is our core fit. We serve established sellers and growing brands, not first-time sellers or sourcing models outside private label, wholesale, and brand-exclusive relationships.

Do you handle wholesale volume from San Antonio manufacturers or distributors?

Yes. We handle bulk receiving, inspection and sorting, case-pack building, and FBA compliance prep for wholesale inventory. San Antonio has an active manufacturing and distribution base, and we are set up to receive pallet and LTL freight from that network.

How does FBA shipment plan execution work at Marketplace Prep?

Our software builds and executes FBA shipment plans straight from Seller Central, handling shipment processing and label generation against live Amazon plan data. That covers FNSKU labeling, poly-bagging, bundling, inspection, and case-pack compliance so your inbound is built to spec before it leaves our floor.

What are your turnaround times?

We do not publish blanket turnaround times. Lead times depend on volume, SKU complexity, and the prep involved, and we scope them per engagement in your service agreement.

How does pricing work?

Standard prep is billed at the published per-unit volume tiers on our prep pricing page, with every standard step included. Kitting, specialty work, and problem inbounds are quoted after we understand your SKU mix.

Prepping out of San Antonio? Let’s scope it.

We do not make blanket promises and we do not quote before we understand the work. Tell us your SKU mix, your volume, and how your inventory arrives, and we will scope it against what you actually ship.
