For Louisiana sellers, freight lane is the real distance, not the map

You do not control which fulfillment center Amazon assigns, and Amazon can split one shipment plan across several of them. So the thing worth shopping for in a prep center is not how close it is. It is whether it books freight competently and executes the plan accurately.

Marketplace Prep is based in Fort Worth, Texas at 1925 Golden Heights Rd, Suite 200, a standard truck lane from the Baton Rouge and New Orleans metros along I-49 north to Shreveport and west on I-20, or a straight I-10 to I-20 run from the Gulf Coast. For Louisiana brands importing through the Port of New Orleans or running domestic wholesale, that puts a fully systemized prep operation inside ordinary LTL and full-truckload range, at a loading dock that takes 53-foot trailers and full containers.

Amazon controls which fulfillment centers receive your inventory and can split a shipment plan across multiple centers regardless of where you prep, which is why proximity to any one of them is not the thing to optimize. We handle the leg from our Fort Worth facility into Amazon: FNSKU labeling, case-pack compliance, the shipment plan our software builds off Seller Central, and the freight booking behind it. You handle sourcing and selling.

Marketplace Prep was founded by an Amazon seller who ran thousands of SKUs and hundreds of thousands of units before building the prep operation, and that depth shows up in how we read shipment plans, handle case-pack rules, and catch labeling problems before Amazon does. Every account gets a dedicated WhatsApp group, and we tell you what is actually happening with your inventory, including the parts you would rather not hear.

Getting Louisiana inventory onto our floor

Four ways freight reaches our floor from Louisiana, and what each one asks of you.

Parcel

UPS, FedEx, and USPS deliveries need no appointment. Smaller Louisiana shipments enter receiving as they land.

Pallet and LTL

Scheduled appointment required. Book the window with us before the carrier dispatches, so a truck is not sitting at the door without a slot. Louisiana to Fort Worth is a routine LTL lane.

Container and full truckload

Our loading dock takes 53-foot trailers and full containers, so an import moving up from the Port of New Orleans or a domestic wholesale load unloads in one stop. Same appointment rule as LTL.

Outbound to Amazon

We book Amazon Freight through the Amazon Freight portal, coordinate LTL, generate the BOL, and schedule carrier pickup from our Fort Worth facility. The inbound leg to Amazon is ours to run.

Who this is built for

Louisiana brands importing through the Gulf or running domestic wholesale at volume are who this floor is set up for.

A fit

  • Louisiana brands shipping 3,000+ units a month who have outgrown prepping in their own space.
  • Importers bringing containers through the Port of New Orleans who want receiving, inspection, and FBA prep to happen in one place.
  • Wholesale sellers moving case-pack inventory, which has grown since Amazon discontinued its own prep service in early 2026.
  • Private label brands that want custom packaging, inserts, kitting, and quality assurance handled on the same floor as the FBA prep.

Questions Louisiana sellers ask

Where is Marketplace Prep located relative to Louisiana?

Marketplace Prep operates from Fort Worth, Texas, at 1925 Golden Heights Rd, Suite 200. From the Baton Rouge and New Orleans metros, that is a standard truck lane running I-49 north to Shreveport and I-20 west into the Dallas-Fort Worth area,. The facility accepts 53-foot trailers and full containers.

Does an FBA prep center need to be inside Louisiana to serve Louisiana sellers?

No. Amazon controls which fulfillment centers receive your inventory and can split a shipment plan across multiple centers regardless of where you prep. What matters is whether your prep partner books freight competently and executes shipment plans accurately. We run the freight leg from our Fort Worth facility into Amazon for you.

How does my inventory get from Louisiana to your facility?

You arrange the move to our Fort Worth facility, or we coordinate it. Goods coming through the Port of New Orleans or from a domestic wholesaler travel a routine LTL or FTL lane to Texas. Pallet and LTL deliveries require an appointment; parcel from UPS, FedEx, or USPS needs no appointment.

What is the minimum volume to work with Marketplace Prep?

FBA prep has a floor of 500 units per month, with the ideal fit at 3,000 units per month and above. We are built for established sellers who already understand FBA shipment plans and FNSKU labeling. Sourcing must be private label, wholesale, or brand-exclusive.

How does pricing work?

Standard prep is billed at the published per-unit volume tiers on our prep pricing page, with every standard step included. Kitting, specialty work, and problem inbounds are quoted after a discovery call where we review your SKU mix and volume.

What turnaround time should I expect?

Lead times are scoped per engagement and documented in your service agreement, not promised as a blanket figure. An inbound has several independent legs, including transit to our facility, receiving, prep, and Amazon inbound transit, and each is scoped honestly rather than wrapped in a single guarantee. We tell you what is realistic for your volume and SKU mix.

Which tools do you run the operation on?

Our software builds the shipment and generates the labels straight from Seller Central. DTC fulfillment, inventory, and order management run on ShipHero. Freight booking goes through the Amazon Freight portal, and our MP Hub command center tracks client operations. Clients get visibility into their inventory without chasing us.

Can you handle wholesale prep now that Amazon discontinued its own prep service?

Yes. We provide bulk receiving, inspection and sorting, FBA compliance prep, and case-pack building for wholesale loads. With Amazon’s own prep service discontinued in early 2026, wholesale sellers route that work to a 3PL, and that demand has grown.

Moving inventory west out of Louisiana? Let’s scope it.

We do not make blanket promises and we do not quote before we understand the work. Tell us your SKU mix, your volume, and whether your freight lands at the port or at a wholesaler, and we will scope it against what you actually ship.
