Why handling New Mexico freight once in Texas beats handling it twice

New Mexico is light on prep and 3PL infrastructure, so the real choice is rarely a local floor against a Texas one. It is between unloading, inspecting and rebuilding your freight twice, or doing it once at the point it was already headed.

Sellers in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe and Las Cruces already route most freight east into Texas, because that is where the warehousing density and the carrier lanes are. Our facility at 1925 Golden Heights Rd, Suite 200 in north Fort Worth sits on those lanes. Central New Mexico reaches the DFW area over I-40 and then US-287; southern New Mexico reaches it over I-10 connecting to I-20. For an Albuquerque seller that is I-40 east and then US-287 southeast, and for a Las Cruces operation the I-10 to I-20 corridor lands at the same floor.

The logistics case for consolidating in Fort Worth rather than prepping in state is volume aggregation. Private label and wholesale inventory arrives as container and LTL freight that has to be unloaded, inspected, labeled and rebuilt into Amazon-compliant cartons before it moves again. Doing that once, in a systems-first warehouse with a forklift, 53-foot trailer access and shipment execution built on your Seller Central shipment plan, removes a handling layer that an in-state self-prep setup repeats on every batch.

Marketplace Prep was built by a seller who ran his own Amazon operation across thousands of SKUs and hundreds of thousands of units, so FBA rules are operational knowledge here rather than a help article. Every account gets a dedicated WhatsApp group, so you can ask what is happening with a pallet without opening a ticket.

Getting New Mexico inventory onto our floor

Four ways freight reaches our floor from New Mexico, and what each one asks of you.

Parcel

UPS, FedEx, and USPS deliveries need no appointment. Smaller New Mexico shipments enter receiving as they land.

Pallet and LTL

Scheduled appointment required. Book the window with us before the carrier dispatches, so a truck is not sitting at the door without a slot. This is the lane for wholesale cases and private label production moving east out of New Mexico.

Container and full truckload

Our loading dock handles 53-foot trailers and 40-foot containers with a forklift on site, so an import or a full supplier load unloads without a liftgate. Same appointment rule as LTL.

Outbound to Amazon

We book Amazon Freight through the Amazon Freight portal, coordinate LTL, generate the BOL, and schedule carrier pickup from our Fort Worth facility, so you are not managing carriers from New Mexico.

Who this is built for

New Mexico inventory already moves east. This floor is set up for the sellers doing it at volume.

A fit

  • New Mexico brands shipping 3,000+ units a month who have outgrown prepping in their own space.
  • Wholesale sellers moving case-pack inventory, which has grown since Amazon ended its own prep service.
  • Private label brands that want custom packaging, inserts, kitting, and quality assurance handled on the same floor as the FBA prep.
  • Sellers running Shopify, WooCommerce, or Amazon merchant-fulfilled orders alongside FBA who can integrate with ShipHero.

Questions New Mexico sellers ask

Where is Marketplace Prep located relative to New Mexico?

Our facility is at 1925 Golden Heights Rd, Suite 200, Fort Worth, TX 76177, in north Fort Worth. From central New Mexico it is reachable east over I-40 and then southeast on US-287; from southern New Mexico it is reachable over I-10 connecting to I-20. New Mexico inventory already routes through Texas to reach warehousing and carrier capacity, so Fort Worth sits on lanes you are likely using.

Can I ship inventory to you from New Mexico?

Yes. Most New Mexico sellers send inventory to us by parcel or freight rather than driving it. Parcel deliveries from UPS, FedEx, or USPS need no appointment. Pallet and LTL deliveries require a booked appointment within our 9 AM to 3 PM CST receiving window. Our loading dock handles 53-foot trailers and 40-foot containers with a forklift on site.

What volume do you work with?

FBA prep has a floor of 500 units per month, and our ideal fit is 3,000+ units per month. We are built for established sellers running private label, wholesale, or brand-exclusive inventory.

How is pricing determined?

Standard prep is billed at the published per-unit volume tiers on our prep pricing page, with every standard step included. Work outside standard prep, such as kitting or problem inbounds, is scoped on a discovery call. We scope it on a discovery call.

How long does prep take?

Lead time is scoped per engagement, not promised as a blanket number. Total time from your dock to an Amazon fulfillment center is made up of independent legs: transit from New Mexico to Fort Worth, receiving and prep in our warehouse, onward freight transit, and Amazon’s own intake processing, which is outside any prep center’s control. We commit to the leg we run and document it in your agreement.

Which tools do you run prep on?

Our software builds the shipment and generates the labels straight from Seller Central. DTC fulfillment, order management, and inventory run on ShipHero. Freight is booked through the Amazon Freight portal. Clients get visibility into their operations without chasing updates.

Do you handle both Amazon and direct-to-consumer orders?

Yes. FBA Prep covers your Amazon inbound, and DTC Fulfillment covers ecommerce orders through ShipHero with Shopify and WooCommerce integration and Amazon merchant-fulfilled order support. A New Mexico brand running both channels can hold one inventory pool in Fort Worth instead of splitting stock across locations.

How will we communicate during an active engagement?

Communication is WhatsApp-first. Every client gets a dedicated WhatsApp group created at onboarding, which is where day-to-day updates, receiving notes, and shipment questions are handled. Email is used for formal documents like agreements, invoices, and BOLs.

Shipping out of New Mexico? Let’s scope it.
